Tinto "O Esteiro" 2016 Bodegas Albamar
Tinto "O Esteiro" 2016 is a Spanish red wine produced by Bodegas Albamar. It is made from a blend of indigenous Caiño, Espadeiro and Mencía grapes from vineyards located in the Valle de Salnés, where the proximity to the ocean gives the wine special marine scents and flavour. The winery is run by Xurxo Alba Padìn, who works according to organic farming principles with minimal intervention in the vineyard and in the cellar.
Harvesting is manual, the grapes are partially destemmed and gently crushed, and alcoholic fermentation is spontaneous, using indigenous yeasts, in open vats with daily punching-down and maceration lasting about 3 weeks. Maturation takes place in French oak barrels for a period of at least 8 months.
The wine Tinto O Esteiro 2016 of Bodegas Albamar shows a bright ruby red colour, the nose expresses a bouquet of small red fruits such as currant, wild strawberry and cherry, floral and mineral notes, spicy hints of black pepper. The taste is fresh and pleasant, with delicate tannins and a nice savoury finish.
