Caino Tinto 2015 Bodegas Zarate
Bodegas Zarate's Caiño Tinto 2015 is a red wine from Spain made from the Caiño Tinto grape variety, one of the three indigenous red varieties of the Val do Salnés, which produces wines that tend to be very fruity with a high dose of acidity. This wine fully reflects the characteristics of the grape and is a pure expression of the Galician terroir.
The grapes, which come from vineyards that are around 60 years old, are harvested by hand and vinified without destemming. The wine then matures for 8 months in third-passage French oak barrels, where it also undergoes malolactic fermentation. Bottling takes place without any filtration or clarification.
The 2015 Caino Tinto of Bodegas Zarate expresses a beautiful ruby red colour with garnet highlights. The nose offers hints of wood and spices among which black pepper stands out, together with fruity notes of black cherry and citrus of blood orange and a light mineral touch. The taste is fresh and fruity, with an evident tannic texture and a nice persistence.
