Barolo "Via Nuova 2016" Chiara Boschis
Barolo Via Nuova is the flagship label of the historic winery E. Pira & Figli di Chiara Boschis based in Barolo. The name comes from the small plot of Pira vineyards located in the new road that connected Barolo to Novello. Today the road is a small path that crosses the vineyards.
Barolo Via Nuova Chiara Boschis is a fine wine made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes grown in the cru Terlo, Liste, Gabutti, Baudana, Ravera and Mosconi, located in the communes of Barolo, Serralunga and Monforte d'Alba. It is a Barolo wine obtained according to tradition, i.e. by blending grapes from different crus, fermentation is spontaneous through indigenous yeasts in steel tanks, before aging for two years in large barrels and French oak barriques. The wine is neither clarified nor filtered and before entering the market it rests for a year in the bottle.
Chiara Boschis Barolo Via Nuova 2016 is a beautiful ruby red goblet with elegant garnet reflections, with notes of violet and licorice, underbrush and roots, berries and foliage on the nose. On the palate it is an intense and robust wine, structured and deep, with delicate tannins balanced by a nice freshness. An elegant Barolo wine with a long life ahead.
