Bourgogne Rouge Epineuil Rouge 2018 Dominique Gruhier
The 2018 Bourgogne Epineuil Rouge is a red wine from Burgundy produced by Dominique Gruhier. The 100% Pinot Noir grapes come from vineyards located in Epineuil surrounding the charming Quincy Abbey, owned by the Gruhiers since the 1990s. Here, the terroir characterised by a limestone soil and a continental climate that favours a slow ripening of the grapes, give great elegance to the wines, especially the Pinot Noir-based reds.
A respectable entry level in Gruhier's range, it is the purest and most authentic expression of the philosophy that Dominique wishes to convey through his wines: an elegant and expressive red, this Bourgogne Rouge Epineuil Pinot Noir ages in oak barrels for 3 to 5 years.
Intense ruby red in colour, the nose expresses aromas of red fruits such as cherry and blackberry, together with mineral and undergrowth aromas. The taste is characterized by a great aromaticity that recalls the red fruits and spices perceived on the nose, it is enveloping with its roundness and the fineness of the tannins for an intense and deep finish.
