Brunello di Montalcino Riserva "Pianorosso" 2012 Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona
Brunello di Montalcino "Pianrosso" 2012 is a Tuscan red wine produced by the Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona winery. A remarkable interpretation of one of the most important Italian wines and undisputed king of the Montalcino area, it is made from 100% Sangiovese, which is harvested only in the best years from grapes coming exclusively from the Pianrosso vineyard, 11.69 hectares planted with vines of medium texture and marl, at an altitude between 240 and 360 m above sea level. The best grapes are selected for the production of this bottle, fermentation takes place in stainless steel and cement tanks and then the wine matures in Slavonian oak barrels for about three years, after which it is refined in the bottle for a period of more than eight months. The Brunello di Montalcino "Pianrosso" 2012 by Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona shows a beautiful ruby red colour tending to garnet, while the nose expresses a broad and intense bouquet of ripe red fruits, aromas of underbrush, aromatic wood and liquorice. The taste is structured and elegant, well balanced and persistent.
