Champagne "Grand Vintage Brut" 2006 J. de Telmont
The "Grand Vintage Brut" 2006 is a fine Champagne produced by J. de Telmont. It is made from a blend of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay from the 2006 vintage only. The grapes come from the Côte des Blancs, Sézannais and Vallée de la Marne. The base wines are not matured in wood but only in steel, the bottling is done 9 months after the harvest and ages in the bottle from 3 to 6 years, before being put on the market.
About 180,000 bottles are produced each year. Intense yellow in colour with golden reflections and a fine and fairly intense perlage, the "Grand Vintage Brut" 2006 expresses a rich and complex nose of honey, very ripe rennet apple, toasted peanuts, intense, iodine, saltiness, flint, zabaglione, ripe jujube, ending with notes of almond.
The sip enchants with a beautiful softness and creaminess, with silky bubbles and balanced by the presence of a nice freshness and flavour. It has a long, intense aromatic persistence with a finish of zabaglione and bitter orange jam. It is a champagne apparently simple but in reality hides a beautiful complexity.
