Gattinara 2014 Torraccia del Piantavigna
Gattinara 2014 Torraccia del Piantavigna Gattinara 2014 is a red wine from Piedmont produced by Torraccia del Piantavigna winery. It is produced with Nebbiolo grapes coming from a very particular terroir of Alto Piemonte, in an area having a cool climate, characterized by soils rich in iron mineral substances. From this particularly suited territory are produced wines of great elegance and extraordinary longevity.
Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, with a maceration on skins of few weeks. The wine then ages for 36 months in French Allier oak casks and ends its aging with 9 months in bottle. Torraccia del Piantavigna's Gattinara 2014 shows a not very intense garnet color.
The nose is intense with floral aromas, hints of graphite, mineral and earthy sensations, hints of licorice and nuances of small red berried fruits. In mouth is structured, characterized by good tannins and sapidity. It is a wine with great evolutionary capacity.
