Il Rosso 2017 Annesanti
Rosso 2017 di Annesanti is a natural wine without sulphites that is born in Valnerina in Arrone, Umbria, from two grape varieties that are unusual for the area, Merlot, which gives it a soft pleasantness, and Barbera, which gives it its distinct acidic note. The grapes come from vineyards planted on hills facing south-east on clayey soil.
The Annesanti winery is a small family-run business, it owns 5 hectares of vineyards managed by Francesco Annesanti, a promising young winemaker who has approached the principles of biodynamics, but who has as a cornerstone of his activity the respect for ancient and genuine traditions.
The Red 2017 Annesanti wine is produced with highly selected grapes in the vineyard and harvested strictly by hand, the alcoholic fermentation takes place spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in steel tanks, after a maceration of several weeks the wine matures in steel tanks before being bottled on days of waning moon, as the biodynamic philosophy wants. The natural wine does not undergo clarification or filtration.
This Umbrian red wine is purplish red in color with slight ruby reflections, the nose alternates intense hints of red fruit, cherry and raspberry on all, violet flowers and spicy notes, including pepper and cinnamon. In the mouth it is rich, soft and enveloping with a nice acidity to support it.
An everyday red, created with artisan methods, a natural wine really enjoyable!
