Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2018 La Valentina
Montepulciano d’Abruzzo 2018 is a red wine from the La Valentina winery. The winery is located in the municipality of Spoltore, near Pescara, and has vineyards scattered throughout the province. This wine is made from pure Montepulciano grapes from vineyards located at an altitude of about 150-400 metres with a south/south-west exposure to the sun. The good exposure allows an adequate ripening of the grapes with enrichment of the aromatic richness. The vines are between 25 and 35 years old and stand on clayey soil. The Montepulciano d'Abruzzo La Valentina shows an intense ruby red colour; the nose offers aromas of ripe and jammy fruit, including black cherry and raspberry, floral notes of dried red flowers in a spicy frame and a liquorice finish, with some fresh balsamic notes. In the mouth it is soft, with an intense and enveloping sip with delicate tannins and good freshness. Perfect with typical Abruzzi salami and arrosticini, or first courses with meat sauces.
