Barolo Rocche di Castiglione 2010 Oddero
Barolo Rocche di Castiglione 2010 is a fine wine from Piedmont produced by Oddero. The Nebbiolo grapes come from the cru of the same name, one of the oldest vineyards of the company located in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto, from vines of about 65 years old located at an altitude of 250 m above sea level with south-east exposure. The company pays great attention to the cultivation of the vineyard, with a strict manual selection of the grapes both in the vineyard and in the cellar, destemming-crushing, fermentation and maceration. After malolactic fermentation in December, the wine is aged in 20 Hl oak barrels for 30 months. Bottling takes place at the end of the summer, followed by further refinement in the bottle for a period of one year before release. Ruby red in colour with slight garnet highlights, this Barolo Rocche di Castiglione 2010 by Oddero expresses balsamic aromas on the nose, notes of liquorice and chocolate together with delicious hints of small red fruits. The taste is balanced and enveloping, supported by a silky tannic texture.
