Bienvenues-Batard-Montrahet 2015 Jean-Claude Ramonet
Jean-Claude Ramonet's 2015 Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru is refined and delicious Burgundy wine, offering a young but already expressive nose of white flowers, green pear, mint, blanched almonds and candied lime peel. On the palate, the wine is polished, full-bodied and multi-dimensional - rich yet vibrant - with a savoury, detailed finish. This year it is qualitatively very close to the domaine's Bâtard-Montrachet. Straw yellow colour. Nutty, floral, nutty, spicy and smoky oak on the nose, with a musky mango and green papaya emerging with aeration. So much tighter in the mouth than the nose suggests; in fact, it's quite dry and youthful now, letting only the fruit show through and displaying firm acidity. But this long wine has a lot of depth underneath. To be forgotten in the cellar for at least ten years.
