Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru La Romanee 2018 Vincent Dancer
Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru La Romanee 2018 is a fine Burgundy wine produced by Domaine Vincent Dancer. The 100% Chardonnay grapes come from the "La Romanee" parcel, from vineyards planted in 1994 and 1980 facing south and south-east, on a steep slope located above the village of Chassagne. The soil here is essentially limestone and is reflected in the wine through an intense minerality.
The wines of Dancer are made according to organic farming principles and represent authentic interpretations of the terroir of origin, bottles of the highest quality that satisfy even the most demanding palates.
Fermentation is spontaneous with indigenous yeasts, while battonage is not carried out to preserve freshness. It ages in 50% new oak barrels for 17 months and after blending is racked again into stainless steel to age for a further 5-6 months before bottling, which is done without filtering or filtration.
This Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru La Romanee is the richest and most full-bodied of Dancer's Chassagne wines, displaying a beautiful straw yellow colour with golden highlights in the glass. The nose offers aromas of pear and green apple, honey, floral and mineral notes. In the mouth it is structured and enveloping, certainly more full-bodied than the other wines in the range, even if it does not lack a nice dose of freshness.
