Fatagione 2006 Cottanera
The "Fatagione" 2006 is a red wine produced by Cottanera. It comes from a blend of 85% Nerello Mascalese, which contributes to giving the wine its structure and "volcanic" character, together with two international vines such as Syrah and Merlot (15%) which give aromaticity in the case of Syrah and softness and balance from merlot. The grapes come from vineyards of an average age of about 15 years. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 26-28 ° C, with maceration on the skins lasting about a month. Subsequently, the wine ages in medium-roasted 225 liter French oak barriques, new at 40%, for 12 months before bottling and further aging for 12 months. The "Fatagione" 2006 is a complex and elegant wine, with a bright ruby red color, with garnet hues. The nose gives floral aromas of violet, aromas of small dark berry fruits, cherry in alcohol, Mediterranean scrub, toasted hints, tobacco, spices and wood. In the mouth it is structured and balanced, it recalls the fruit with a delicate tannic texture.
