Manzoni Bianco "Fontanasanta" 2020 Foradori
Manzoni Bianco "Fontanasanta" 2020 Foradori is a Trentino white wine produced using natural methods. It is made from Manzoni Bianco or Incrocio Manzoni grapes, the most famous of the clones created by Professor Luigi Manzoni in the 1930s at the Conegliano School of Oenology, which originated from a cross between Riesling Renano and Pinot Bianco that gave rise to this wine. The hillside above Trento, with its clayey-calcareous soil, welcomes Manzoni Bianco and allows the grapes to ripen at the end of September.
It is in this way that this cross-fertilisation succeeds in expressing the character of the Fontanasanta vineyard, from which it derives, characterised by soil of calcareous-clayey origin. In the vineyard, biodynamic agriculture concepts are followed, using only natural preparations and minimum doses of copper and sulphur, while in the cellar, spontaneous alcoholic fermentation is carried out using only indigenous yeasts in cement tanks with maceration on the skins for about a week. The wine then matures for 12 months in acacia barrels before being bottled without clarification or filtration.
The "Fontanasanta" Manzoni Bianco shows a beautiful intense straw yellow colour with a complex and elegant nose where citrus fruits, exotic fruits, white flowers and mineral notes are recognizable. In the mouth it is balanced between body and minerality.
