Pommard 1er Cru Les Argillieres 2019 Domaine Lejeune
Pommard 1er Cru Les Argillieres 2019 is a natural wine produced by Domaine Lejeune. It is made from Pinot Noir grapes from the commune of Pommard, in particular from the Argillieres parcel. All production phases, from the vineyard to the winery, follow the principles of natural and sustainable agriculture, where interventionism is reduced to a minimum with the exclusive use of copper and sulphur and the use of sulphur within the limits of biodynamic agriculture, although the winery is not interested in complying with certifications.
The secret behind the production of quality wines is the harvesting of the grapes, which must take place when they are perfectly ripe. After the harvest, more than half of the grapes undergo fermentation with whole cluster maceration for a period of about two weeks, after which the wine is aged in 30% new barrels.
The result is a red wine of beautiful complexity that expresses on the nose hints of red and dark fruits including blackberries, plums and black cherries on a background of spices, herbaceous and mentholated notes. The taste is structured with a tannin present but not invasive, pleasantly fruity and persistent.
