Pommard 1er Cru Les Poutures 2019 Domaine Lejeune
Pommard 1er Cru Les Poutures 2019 is a natural wine produced by Domaine Lejeune. It is made from Pinot Noir grapes from the commune of Pommard, in particular from the Poutures parcel, which is bordered by the village of Pommard to the south and where the terroir composed of clay-limestone soils allows for wines with a long ageing potential.
The approach in the vineyard as well as in the cellar follows the principles of biodynamic agriculture while refusing to be certified. In fact, the winery is not interested in homologating itself but in conducting authentic and sustainable work where interventionism is very limited, with the use of systemic copper and sulphur as well as the use of sulphur dioxide reduced to a minimum.
The secret behind the production of quality wines is the harvesting of the grapes, which must take place when they are perfectly ripe. After harvesting, more than half of the grapes undergo fermentation with whole cluster maceration for a period of about two weeks, after which the wine is aged in 30% new barrels.
Ruby red in colour with purple highlights, it expresses an intense and complex bouquet of red fruits (raspberry, blackberry), white pepper, aromatic herbs and balsamic hints for a complex, round and fruity sip.
