Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore 2015 Monte dei Ragni
Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore 2015 is a red wine from Veneto produced by Monte dei Ragni. It is part of a small artisan production, worked with care and attention to the environment by a company that has become a real reference point in Valpolicella for fans of the genre.
It is made from a blend of indigenous Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes from the Marenga area, in the commune of Fumane, where the vines grow at an altitude of between 220 and 430 metres above sea level, on a terroir composed of a high quantity of skeleton and limestone. The grapes are dried in the open air for 25-30 days and then gently pressed to obtain a must that ferments spontaneously in oak barrels. Before refining for 30 months in oak barrels, the wine is left to rest on the marcs of Amarone, which is what the "ripasso" technique consists of.
The Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore of Monte dei Ragni shows a beautiful intense ruby red colour, while the nose reveals an intense and layered bouquet of ripe berries, spices, coffee and black pepper. The taste is elegant and structured, tannic and enveloping, very persistent and with a savoury finish. A great authentic and territorial wine produced in a very limited number.
