Valtellina Superiore Inferno Fiamme Antiche 2017 Arpepe
Valtellina Superiore "Inferno Fiamme Antiche" 2017 is a red wine from Valtellina, in Lombardy, produced by AR.PE.PE winery. It is made from 100% Nebbiolo (Chiavennasca) grapes, coming from 50 years old vines which are located at 450 meters above sea level and have their roots in poor soils, mainly made of flaky granite rock.
After harvesting, maceration lasts 12 days and takes place in chestnut vats, after which the must is transferred into oak barrels where it remains for at least two years to evolve, thus enriching its structure and aromaticity. The wine shows a garnet red color with orange hues, while the nose immediately shows us that it is a mountain Nebbiolo with fresh and fruity aromas of cherry, plum and an intensely spicy finish of nutmeg and cloves.
Ar.Pe.Pe.'s Inferno "Fiamme Antiche" is an elegant and territorial red wine, characterized by a clean, sapid and slightly tannic taste.
