Meursault 1er Cru "Clos de Perrieres" 2014 Albert Grivault
Meursault 1er Cru "Clos de Perrieres" is a white Burgundy wine produced by the historic Domaine Albert Grivault. It is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes from the Cru of the same name, which is the "Monopole" of the Domaine. Clos des Perrières is surrounded by the climate of the Premier Cru "Perrières", both considered the best terroir in the village of Meursault. The real difference between the "Clos" and the simple "1er cru Perrieres" (less than 70 metres apart) is due to the layer of rock underneath the "Clos", with a series of parameters that give it an extra layer compared to the more "simple" Perrieres, made from 50-year-old vines, compared to the "Clos", which underwent replanting in 1987. It is located to the south of the appellation, where marl mixes with limestone. The Perrières stands alongside the most beautiful vineyards of their prestigious neighbour Puligny-Montrachet. It is a white of incredible structure and mineral richness.
