"La Loire di Guiberteau" Tasting Box
The Loire is one of the most interesting wine regions in France, as well as one of the largest: mainly white wines are produced here, based on Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc, but also red wines based on Cabernet Franc and Gamay, as well as sparkling and rosé wines.
In this tasting box we explore three wines from a very interesting producer from the Saumur area, who works organically:
Saumur Blanc Breze 2017
It shows an intense straw yellow color, with very bright golden reflections. The nose is intriguing because it continues to release different aromas as the minutes pass, first mineral hints, which intertwine with vegetal, balsamic and aromatic notes, with a delicate floral trail of broom flowers. The mouth is extremely fresh, we find the aromatic profile of the nose, enriched by notes of candied fruit. and above all a lot of salt. Sapidity is perhaps the main feature of Guiberteau's white wines, synonymous with quality and elegance.
Saumur Rouge Les Chapaudaises 2018
This Saumur Rouge Les Chapaudaises 2018 has a bright ruby red color, the nose expresses complex hints of wild berries such as blackcurrant, blackberry, slightly smoky and mineral notes. In the mouth it is fresh with delicate tannins, good balance and long sip that ends in a mineral finish. Adequate oxygenation is required before tasting it, and it is a wine with a great predisposition to aging, which can be stored in the cellar for over 10 years. Perfect match with structured dishes based on meats and aged cheeses.
Saumur Blanc Clos De Guichaux Monopole 2018
The Saumur Blanc Clos de Guichaux is a deep and mineral wine, with an intense nose of citrus and ripe white fruit, and toasted notes deriving from the long aging in cask. In the mouth it is full and persistent with a nice freshness and a mineral finish. It has an aging potential of 10 years or perhaps longer. and complex, reflecting the quality obtained from the magnificent vineyards of Saumur.
