Etna Bianco Superiore "Contrada Rinazzo" 2019 Benanti
Contrata Rainazzo is one of the most interesting white wines produced by the Sicilian winery Benanti, an Italian oenological pearl that fears no comparison with the great international whites. It is made from Carricante grapes, the historic indigenous Sicilian vine, grown in the Rinazzo district, in the Milo area, the best suited of the entire Etna area thanks to its position, close to the sea and exposed to good ventilation.
The vines that give life to this Etna Bianco Superiore grow on volcanic, sandy and mineral soils at 800 metres above sea level. The grapes are harvested by hand and the whole bunches are soft-pressed. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in steel tanks and the wine is matured in steel for 12 months before a further 6 months in the bottle.
The Etna Bianco Superiore "Contrada Rainazzo" appears in the glass with a beautiful, luminous straw yellow colour and a rich bouquet of delicate aromas of orange blossom and ripe apple. The taste is balanced between freshness and softness, with a nice minerality and ends in a long trail of star anise and almond.
