Etna Rosso 2018 Benanti
Etna Rosso 2018 is Benanti's entry-level red wine, produced along the slopes of Mount Etna from a blend of indigenous Sicilian Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio grapes. It is a fresh and elegant Sicilian red wine suitable for those who love refined reds.
The grapes used to produce this Sicilian red wine are grown on the north side of the volcano at an altitude between 450 and 900 metres above sea level. The wide temperature range between day and night allows for slow and constant ripening, which favours the generation of elegant and refined aromas. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in steel vats with maceration on the skins, after which 80% of the wine is matured in steel vats and the remainder in barriques.
The Etna Rosso Benanti presents itself in the glass with a very bright ruby red colour, on the nose we find a bouquet of small red fruits, citrus fruits and spicy notes. In the mouth it is a very mineral wine, with delicate tannins and a nice savoury finish.
