Sancerre "Monoparcelle 469" 2018 Claude Riffault
Sancerre Monoparcelle 469 2018 is a fine wine from the French region of Loire produced by Claude Riffault. The cuvée comes from a single plot taken 4 years ago in Sury en Vaux, in the area of Les Sentieres. This plot is made up of old vineyards and is characterized by a very particular terroir, where there is less ventilation, so in summer the heat is amplified and this allows a good ripening of the grapes with the expansion of the kit aromatic.
The soil is rather shallow and composed of kimméridgiennes marl which gives the wine a slightly slower opening which requires more time than the wines produced from lighter limestone-clay soils, which is why Riffault decided to increase the time of aging at 15 months. As a result, the Sancerre Monoparcelle 469 2018 has a precise character and a great class: it is characterized by floral hints of white and rose flowers, wildflowers, mimosa, accompanied by iodine hints refreshed by herbs and citrus zest aroma.
In the mouth it is fresh, almost acidic in that orange marmalade taste, refined and supported by a magnificent texture and a long and persistent finish. 2018 is an excellent year and this wine has considerable aging potential.
