Champagne Cuvee Des Crayeres Brut Eric Rodez
Champagne Cuvee Des Crayeres Brut is a fine Champagne produced by Eric Rodez. Rodez, fresh from his work experience at Krug, has become a reference in the renowned Ambonnay area, and is recognised for the precision and elegance of his Champagnes.
This "Cuvee Des Crayeres" is made from a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay grapes from exclusively Grand Cru vineyards in the Ambonnay area. It is the result of blending a dozen base wines, 45/50% of which are reserve wines from 4/5 vintages. 75/80% of the wines are fermented in stainless steel while 20/25% are fermented in small wooden barrels, the contribution of wood is not evident but delicately enriches the bouquet.
The Champagne la Cuvée de Crayères has an intense straw yellow colour with golden reflections and a very fine and persistent perlage. The nose opens with sweet sugary notes that intertwine with floral aromas, herbs and lemon, along with a mineral touch. The palate has the finesse and elegance of Chardonnay together with the structure of Pinot Noir, made mouth-watering by hints of small red fruits such as strawberries and a long vanilla finish. A great Champagne with excellent value for money.
