Montepulciano d'Abruzzo "Vigneto di Popoli" 2013 Valle Reale
Montepulciano Vigneto di Popoli is one of the most intense and structured expressions of the famous red wine from Abruzzo, it is produced with grapes coming from a vineyard planted in 1952 famous for its low yields but of very high quality.
It is one of the leading products of Azienda Valle Reale, a historical winery located between Gran Sasso, Majella and the Sirente-Velino regional park which produces natural wine with organic methods, without invasive interventions neither in the vineyard nor in the cellar. The Vigneto di Popoli is an old vineyard of just one hectare that stands on a clayey-calcareous soil at 350 meters above sea level, the strong temperature range between day and night contribute to the full ripening of the grapes and thus able to develop an intense aroma that we find in the wine.
Montepulciano d'Abruzzo "Vigneto di Popoli" Valle Reale is spontaneously fermented in steel tanks with indigenous yeasts with a maceration on skins of about 10 days, subsequently aged in French wood tonneau for 12 months. The color is deep ruby red, with a complex and intense bouquet of spices, red berries, underbrush, humus and violets. In the mouth it is full bodied and structured with a fine and suave tannic texture and a long and persistent finish characterized by a nice sapidity.
