Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru Aux Fornaux 2019 Domaine Rapet
Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru Aux Fornaux 2019 is a Burgundy red wine produced by Domaine Rapet. The pinot noir grapes come from 50+ year old vines in the commune of Savigny-les-Beaune. The Premier Cru is the upper part of this large plot, where the soil is poorer and drier than in the Village at the foot of the hill, the tannins are finer and the course longer, the terroir is characterised by deep, ferruginous soil, the climat name "Aux Fournaux" is due to the presence of the remains of coal stoves.
As with Rapet's entire range of reds, the aim is to produce wines with generous fruit and silky tannins. After harvesting, the grapes are brought to the cellar in small crates and meticulously sorted, then spontaneously fermented for 15 days with continuous pressing. Maturation takes place in 20% new barriques.
The Savigny-les-Beaune "Aux Fournaux" is a rich wine with a mouth-watering and at the same time elegant fruit, distinguished by a fruity nose of cherry, blackcurrant, raspberry, and aromas of undergrowth with evolution. The sip is delicate and with silky tannins.
